Bedford First UMC is a church where ministry matters and thinking outside of the box is valued. We want to reach others and show them how much God truly loves them. Whether it is taking someone a stuffed animal or simply sitting down for a chat over coffee, we want to engage others and make a difference.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Messiah, the son of God, who died for our sins. We believe that we are to being made in the image of God means that we are to care for all of creation. We believe that first we are to Love God. After first loving God, we are to love others and ourselves, which includes accepting that God has forgiven us for our past transgressions. We are also to go out and spread the good news, to be the hands and feet of Christ in this world. Congregation members hold diverse views on multiple topics and use the principles of Christian conferencing to show respect and understanding as we work through challenging topics such as creationism vs evolution, gender issues, and more. We encourage questions and discussion as we learn and grow in our faith.
